Stay-at-Home IT Service Operation Updates

March 23, 2020

To our valued Clients,

On Thursday, March 19th, the governor of California issued a statewide order for all residents to ‘stay at home’ during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. We have been notified that the stay at home order is in place until further notice.

Here are the actions centrexIT has taken to comply with the governor’s order and to keep our Clients, partners, and centrexIT staff safe, while continuing to provide service to our Clients:

  • All service technicians are working remotely from home and will continue to provide uninterrupted service to our clients.
  • All back-office staff, such as Human Resources and accounting, are working remotely from home and continuing to support our employees and clients.
  • Our provisioning and project engineering staff require use of our facilities to prepare equipment. They are practicing social distancing while on-site, and using precautions recommended by federal, state, and health official agencies. The number of people physically in our office is being carefully tracked and limited.
  • For emergency on-site support, we will dispatch a service technician subject to federal/state/county/city guidelines.

For service requests:

  • For Non-Urgent Requests: Please submit a request online: https://centrexit.com/service-request/
  • For Urgent Requests: Please call (619) 651-8787. Due to increased demand, call hold times may be longer than usual.
  • On-site support requests will be on an emergency-only basis until further notice.

centrexIT is taking precautions to keep our Clients, partners, and centrexIT staff safe during the current coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. We will continue to monitor the situation and closely follow the recommendations of federal, state, and health official agencies.

Service Operation Updates

March 16, 2020

centrexIT is taking precautions to keep our clients, partners, and centrexIT staff safe during the current coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. We will continue to monitor the situation and closely follow the recommendations of federal, state, and health official agencies. We have also created a dedicated covid-19 webpage for all centrexIT service updates: https://centrexit.com/covid19-impact-updates/

Our mission is to provide continued service during this time and to provide transparency to our clients in any changes to our operations.

At this time, centrexIT has implemented a number of company-wide measures:

  • Following Official Guidelines: centrexIT is monitoring all Center for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) advisories and will continue to follow all recommended and required protocols.
  • Remote Operations: All personnel who have the ability to effectively work off-site (80% of our team) are working remotely until the situation changes.
  • Meeting and Events Modifications: All scheduled office visits will be held as online meetings. Events, such as our client happy hours, will be postponed or hosted via Cisco WebEx.

We have made the following modifications to our service operations in order to prioritize urgent requests while following recommended safety guidelines:

  • For Non-Urgent Requests: Please submit a request online: https://centrexit.com/service-request/
  • For Urgent Requests: Please call (619) 651-8787. Due to increased demand, call hold times may be longer than usual.

Supply Chain Updates for IT Equipment

March 10, 2020

As a valued client, we want to inform you of the effect that the COVID-19 (Coronavirus disease) has had on our ability to procure IT hardware.  Most hardware components are either made or assembled outside of the United States. The disruption of the manufacturing processes in countries impacted by COVID-19 has created a shortage for many IT consumer products, specifically laptops and desktops.

We have maintained daily communications about the product sourcing challenges with our distribution channel partners.  Based on our communications, we anticipate there will be a continued shortage of hardware in the coming months even as the impacted factories resume normal operations.

Here are the steps we have taken to ensure our clients experience the least amount of disruption as possible:

  • We work daily with our suppliers to source hardware to meet client demands (options limited due to inventory constraints)
  • We are maintaining a limited inventory of computers on-site that are available for clients, in case the supply chain is further interrupted

You might have also heard media stories about companies who are encouraging employees to work from home if they are located in areas that are highly impacted by COVID-19.  For those of you who would like to extend remote-work options to your employees, please speak with your vITM or vCIO to understand how this would be possible for your organization.

Thank you for your attention. We will continue to provide updates as they become available.

Thank you,
The centrexIT Team
