How this is calculated
Every figure comes from what you enter; the calculator adds no averages or estimates of its own. Yearly loss is disruptions per year, times hours down per disruption, times your cost of one hour of downtime, worked out once for today and once with the plan. Loss avoided is the hours the plan saves per disruption, times disruptions per year, times your hourly cost. Net yearly return is loss avoided minus the plan's yearly cost. Payback is the plan's yearly cost divided by the loss it avoids each month. The three-year view adds up three years of each.
